This is the first of what I hope is going to be a very long and thourough project.
Lately I've wondered a lot about our generation and the lack of identity that seems to give our generation character. All the glamour and "bling" of Hip Hop or the "Depression" of the rockers and grungers, all the melancholy of Coldplay-songs... Is it really true? Or is it just something alluring, that gives us a chance to define ourselves.
Most of the time I feel stranded. Just like him, up there.
May I present: A parody to post-modernism.

Just kidding, I'm mature about this kinda stuff. Very nice shot, I love the angle. I agree with the message you described and I like the fact that he's not burdened down by all the material and superficial things in our world today. It's just him as a man, not hiding anything. ^_~ Very good job again.

A rather large paper I read online, I can't quite remember it where I read it, pretty much summed up recent generations starting back with the anti-war movements in the Vietnam era as generations with an identity crisis.
We have nothing to identify with, no national "things" to be proud of like our previous generations (defeating Nazism in WWI and II, making it to the moon, etc).
thats brilliant i really hope you keep up the project then i am really interested in the younger generations/lack of identity idea.
Being a high school student i see how people mask themselves (very obviously and in a shallow way) with others ideas. Movies, and music have such an effect on others they always want to be someone else, somebody defined and more concrete than others. I cant blame them because it's comforting but it's just not reality. Everyone just comes off as a phonny.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.

I found the reading rather fascinating.
