It's been ages, I know.
But never fear, I'm like a boomerang. I always return.
A few weeks ago I decided to step down as gallery moderator - for obvious reasons. Ever since I became photo chief there wasn't enough time and energy left for the job. And when I started to work on a new play additionally to my magazine-responibilities, there wasn't any point anymore.
During the last 2 months my career has taken a really exciting turn. I became music editor as well, and got to interview Mando Diao as my very first job. Tomorrow I'm interviewing Maximilian Hecker, a German musician, and if I find enough time I'll head over to the gig to see Mando Diao again and take pictures of them. Bloody tight schedule, so we'll see if it all works out.
In 2 weeks I'm shooting a 7-page-fashion editorial. The concept is finished, but we still haven't found a proper model yet. Most of the shots will be topless, so finding a good model we haven't already worked with is a challenge. Vienna has so little really talented models, sometimes I really wonder why that is. Thank goodness there are some really awesome bookers around in Vienna, so they try to fix me up with the best girls (and Austria's Next Topmodels, haha... I don't think so).
How have you guys been. Let me know? Update me!!
Magnum MagnumSince its founding in 1947 by Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger, and David "Chim" Seymour, Magnum Photos, the legendary co-operative has powerfully chronicled the peoples, cultures, events, and issues of the time.
Magnum Magnum brings together the best work, celebrating the vision, imagination, and brilliance of Magnum photographers, both the acknowledged greats of photography in the twentieth century—among them, Henri-Cartier Bresson, Robert Capa, Eve Arnold, Marc Riboud, and Werner Bischof—and the modern masters and rising stars of our time, such as Martin Parr, Susan Meiselas, Alec Soth, and Donovan Wylie.
Organized by photographer, the book harks back to the agency's early days and the spirit that made it such a unique and creative environment, one in which each of the four founding members picture-edited the others' photographs. Here a current Magnum photographer selects and critiques six key works by each of the sixty-nine featured photographers, with a commentary explaining the rationale behind the choice.
This new edition provides a permanent record of iconic images from the last sixty years and an insight, as seen through the critical eyes and minds of Magnum photographers, into what makes a memorable photograph. 9.5" x 11.5", 413 illustrations in color and duotone.
